FERC’s entry-level opportunities attract talented individuals from colleges and universities across the United States. FERC looks for candidates with a wide range of interests, ready to explore a variety of career opportunities.
The Recruitment team keeps resumes on file and refer them for relevant positions when they become available. Email your resume to work@ferc.gov. Please note, in order to be considered for a FERC vacancy, you must apply via USAJOBS.
The Recruitment team also relies on meeting potential applicants at recruiting events and from career placement offices at institutions of higher learning. The Recruiting Events schedule lists opportunities to meet FERC recruiters.
Site Visit Program
Each semester FERC hosts Site Visits for students interested in learning more about career opportunities and various roles and responsibilities of the Commission. Visits can be requested by student organizations or university career services staff. At this time, Site Visits are only available at our Headquarters located in Washington, DC.
Our Site Visit program typically lasts between one and two hours and includes discussion on:
- Federal Hiring & USAJOBs 101
- Spotlight on open FERC internships and jobs
- Panel featuring employees in various program offices
- Q&A with Human Resources Representatives and FERC employees
- Informal networking session
To learn more about how to schedule a Site Visit, please contact Lena.Nour@ferc.gov. Read testimonials below about our Site Visit program.
“It was an extremely informative and well-rounded discussion that included different employees from around the organization, all at different points in their careers at FERC. This was especially helpful in understanding a typical day in the office and potential career paths. Every single student who attend FERC’s session was impressed. They left with a better understanding of FERC’s overall mission and a high level of excitement for potential opportunities.” –Bryce Craft, Director of Employer Relations, Monterey Institute of International Studies
“The visit to FERC provided an excellent framework of the organization, internship and job opportunities and also opened our student’s eyes to the complexity and impact of FERC’s work. The panel offered valuable insights into not only what they do, but why this matters to their agency and their own commitment to public service.”–Denise Riebman, Director of Trachtenberg Career Development and Alumni Services, The George Washington University
