The Equal Employment Opportunity and Civil Rights (EEOCR) develops, manages and directs the Commission's affirmative employment planning, and EEO discrimination complaint processing programs. This Staff is concerned with equal employment opportunity, and ensures that employees and applicants for employment are treated without regard to race, color, sex, age, religion, national origin, or mental/physical handicap. This Staff is also responsible for implementing programs designed to enhance the hiring and advancement of women, minorities, disabled veterans, and handicapped individuals.
The EEOCR administers the Commission’s EEOCR Program and ensures that the Commission is in compliance with the Federal laws, regulations, policies, and guidance that prohibit discrimination in the Federal workplace based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, and gender identity), age (40 years and older), disability, genetic information, or reprisal.
The Commission’s EEOCR houses a range of functions including the EEO Complaints Program, Disability Program and Reasonable Accommodations, Affirmative Employment Program, and Special Emphasis Program.
