Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Acting Chairman Cheryl A. LaFleur has announced the appointment of Judge Clark S. Cheney as a FERC Administrative Law Judge.

Since February 2016, Judge Cheney has served as an administrative law judge with the Social Security Administration in Baltimore, MD. Prior to that, he was an attorney adviser and Acting Assistant General Counsel at the U.S. International Trade Commission. Judge Cheney also worked in private practice as a founding partner of the Paterus Law Group, where he advised on intellectual property issues and other legal matters.

“I am pleased to welcome Judge Cheney to our excellent team of administrative law judges,” Acting Chairman LaFleur said. “His extensive experience will benefit the Commission and the public.”

Judge Cheney is a 2002 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Utah. He is a member of the Bars of the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, California, the District of Columbia and Utah.
