FERC today announced the Commission will convene its upcoming forum to examine the PJM Interconnection, L.L.C. Capacity Market from noon to 5 p.m. Eastern Time June 15, 2023, at its headquarters in Washington, D.C. The event will also be webcast live.
The purpose of the forum is to explore how the PJM capacity market is achieving the objective of ensuring resource adequacy at just and reasonable rates. The forum will solicit varied perspectives on both the current state of that PJM capacity market and potential improvements.
“This important and timely forum is focused on increasing reliability and affordability concerns regarding PJM’s capacity market,” FERC Chairman Willie Phillips said. “I want to hear directly from PJM leadership, industry stakeholders and state regulators about these issues and potential solutions.”
The forum initially was announced February 21, 2023, as part of a Commission order (Docket No. ER23-729) approving adjustments to PJM’s capacity market rules concerning the Delmarva Power & Light Co. capacity zone.
A public notice with additional details will be issued soon.
