Chairman Appoints Patricia M. French as New Administrative Law Judge Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Chairman Kevin J. McIntyre has announced his appointment of Judge Patricia M. French as a FERC Administrative Law Judge, effective October 1, 2018.
Since October 2016, Judge French has been an Administrative Law Judge with the Social Security Administration’s Office of Disability Adjudication and Review. Prior to that, she was an energy regulatory salaried shareholder in Bernstein Shur Sawyer & Nelson LLC’s Energy and Environmental Practice Group, representing clients before state public utilities commissions in New England in proceedings related to retail natural gas markets and the siting of natural gas infrastructure.
Judge French served as Chief Compliance Officer and Division Counsel for Columbia Pipeline Group. She also was Vice President, Assistant General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Kern River Gas Transmission Co.
“Judge French’s extensive experience in matters relating to natural gas and energy infrastructure makes her a strong addition to the Commission’s team of excellent administrative law judges,” said Chairman McIntyre. “I am pleased to welcome her to FERC.”
Judge French is a graduate of the Boston University School of Law and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Wells College. She is a member of the Bars of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First and District of Columbia Circuits and the U.S. District Courts for New Hampshire and Utah, as well as Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Maine.
